O Homem Que Matou Getúlio Vargas: Biografia De Um Anarquista by Jô Soares

Thank you Ronny for recommending this! Sou apaixonada pelo destrambelhado do Dimitri. Dec 04, Moureco rated it it was ok Shelves: I wasn’t impressed, and if this is the author’s idea of “a rip-roaring romp through history”, I’ll stick with the nonfiction, thanks.

Pedro rated it liked it Apr 28, Quite light, funny n’ esganadad meaningful book It’s fun to read it When you are reading this work, you can realize that Soares did many researches to build the historical facts.

Esganads some reason, I didn’t find it quite as appealing as “Samba,” perhaps because so much of the novel takes place outside Brazil. Personally I got a lot of laughs out of the journey of seeing how things would go sideways on Dimo this time. Valentine’s Day Massacre kept me interested, but the little dwarf who is the last of the Thuggee and who chases Dimitri all over the world, well he left me a bit bored.

I like it so much right now! Paperbackpages. He’s frustrating and boring to esfanadas, the Gary Stu of assassins, which is a phrase Esganwdas never thought I’d have cause to say. Chuck Buchanan rated it liked it Jan 31, Want to Read saving…. As he ages, we get to meet Mata Hari, Al Capone, Franklin Roosevelt and others, as he either libro them or lines them Dimitri is born with twelve fingers. An intensely fun read.

Dimitri is born with twelve fingers. D rated it liked it May 26, This book is supposed to be historical, but it reads like the author Googled a few famous names from the time period and randomly inserted them into various chapters for little to no reason. The book includes many real historical photos of the assassins and the assassinated.

I have a weakness for picaresque novels, and so picked up this one about a Esagnadas anarchist assassin with great anticipation. A tragicomedy for history nerds.

Humor Nos Tempos Do Collor by Jô Soares

He has no personality or even any reason for his fanaticism. That’s the gist of the book.

Refresh and try again. Very fun reading, flowing easily. Esagnadas causing World War I to Fargas’ suicide, from Bosnia to Chicago, Dimitri comes oh so close to fulfilling his destiny Dimo, of a Brazilian mother and Bosnian father, and a half castrati, leaves home as a teenager to fulfill his destiny, marked by the ljvro fingers he was born with, to become as assassin: As quasi-historical fiction, it’s fun stuff especially delicious is a homicidal dwarf who pursues Dmitiri throughout the bookand Soares does a wonderful job weaving his earnest protagonist into history.

Jose Renato Mannis rated esganadass liked it May 01, And he is clumsy. Lists with This Book. No trivia or quizzes yet. It tells the story of Dmitiri, a fingered boy with a gift for languages and a childhood in a Balkan circus at the start of the 20th century.

Want to Read saving…. He goes down a path where at every turn he makes, murder and mayhem is left behind; but not by his hands, to his utmost disappointment. He is just super talented at everything he ever tries, except for the thing he keeps trying to do. Gabi Bavaresco rated it liked it Oct 02, This tale of the world’s most charming and hapless assassin, Forrest Gump as a twelve-fingered Serbian-Brazilian anarchist out to rid the world of tyrants, is a rake gag of a book, and I suspect a lot of folks will find it repetitive.

It took me a while to read Fernando Jorge rated it really liked it Jan 20, Open Preview See a Problem? Perhaps he was involved in the assassination attempt on Franklin D. Tiago Fragoso rated it liked it Jul 07,
