I enjoyed this book, but I didn’t enjoy all of it enough to really recommend it for someone who wasn’t going to be making a trip to the city soon. With so much of the book sevreti on the people and places of Rome, I would have liked some illustrations of the buildings, art, and portraits of the people that were at the center of these stories to bring them to life just that little sevreti extra.

They are very interesting but it took awhile to get used to the authors style of writing. His other works include several essays about peculiar features of the world’s ci important cities: Roma attira amore, ammirazione, paura e rispetto eccetera.
